About Appleby College

Appleby College is an independent (private) co-ed school with day and boarding students from grades seven through twelve. Appleby is a university-preparatory school, with a curriculum based around the liberal arts. It is accredited by the Canadian Educational Standards Institute and is recognized as one of Canada's leading independent schools. On October 13, 2006, Maclean's Magazine named Appleby one of Canada's Top 100 Employers, being the first high school ever to receive this distinction.

Project Details

Every 2 years, Appleby College hosts a night of festivity, which includes a black tie gala and silent auction. This year's theme was "The Captain's Ball". The school's newly renovated dining hall was transformed into a luxurious cruise ship complete with an "upper deck" for cocktails, and a dock to guide guests along to the entrance.

The APG Solution

This year is the 10th gala, and to help commemorate this special occasion, Appleby College teamed up with APG Displays. The dining hall was transformed into an upper class dining area, and a 4x4 Infinite Plasma wall set the background on the stage. The room was fully equipped with plasma displays to ensure that all guests could see what was being shown on the stage. The plasma wall displayed motion graphics to accompany the musical entertainment, as well as a Flash presentation and videos of the auction items. APG's full range of displays at the event captivated the audiences with powerful multimedia, sound and graphics, and it made for a memorable event.
